Music Tongue is an exergame combining music rhythm and tongue muscle training, designed for middle-aged and elderly individuals to increase tongue dexterity and mitigate age-related muscle degeneration.Current oral exercises—meant to maintain oral function, improve swallowing muscle strength/coordination, and prevent muscle decay—are often monotonous and lack feedback, resulting in low motivation for seniors.

Prior human-computer interfaces (HCIs) like Tongue-able interfaces and LipsMouse use webcams to capture tongue protrusion and lip movement for computer control. Similarly, SITA uses tongue posture recognition to motivate tongue exercise in children with Down syndrome. In this study, we employed a human-centered design process, collaborating with nursing professionals and seniors to develop the Music Tongue exergame. We aim to enhance senior motivation and enjoyment by utilizing musical interaction and the concept of "flow" in tongue muscle training.
